Empowering Families Through Compassion: Erin Camfield's Journey with Centerstone
Erin Camfield, a dedicated specialist at Centerstone, recently shared her personal journey with our Rotary Club, shedding light on the challenges and triumphs of raising a child with learning disabilities. Her heartfelt narrative highlighted the difficulties her family faced in securing appropriate care and support, which ultimately inspired her to assist other families navigating similar paths.
Centerstone, a nonprofit health system, specializes in mental health and substance use disorder treatments for individuals of all ages. Their comprehensive services include counseling, addiction recovery, crisis intervention, and specialized programs for children and families. With facilities across Illinois, including nearby locations in Alton and Edwardsville, Centerstone is committed to delivering care that changes people's lives.
Erin emphasized the importance of community support and shared upcoming opportunities to contribute to Centerstone's mission:
November 19: Five Below in Alton will donate a portion of proceeds to Centerstone.
November 20: Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers in Edwardsville will contribute 15% of sales to Centerstone when patrons mention the organization.
These events not only provide financial support but also raise awareness about mental health services in our community. Erin's story serves as a powerful reminder of the impact that compassionate care and community involvement can have on families facing mental health challenges.
