Today marked another successful effort by the Riverbend Rotary Club in the Annual Alton City-Wide Litter Cleanup. Led by our dedicated members, a group of nine including a member's young daughter and two esteemed visitors from another Rotary club, took on the task of beautifying our city streets.
Armed with gloves, bags, and a resolve to make a difference, our team meticulously combed both sides of Milton Road, stretching from Broadway to Brown Street. By the end of the endeavor, several hefty bags of trash had been collected, including the ever-present empty bottles of Fireball – a familiar sight for our seasoned participants. How to repurpose Fireball Bottles.
Yet, an encouraging trend is emerging. Our biannual participation in this endeavor has led to a noticeable reduction in litter. Each time we venture out, the amount of trash seems to diminish – a testament to the ongoing efforts of community groups and conscientious residents.
Such initiatives not only contribute to a cleaner and more appealing city but also serve as a reminder of the power of collective action. Every small effort counts, and together, we're making a big difference.
To all our members and volunteers: Thank you for your unwavering commitment to our community. Let's continue to work towards a cleaner and greener Alton.
