Rotarian Spotlight – Pat Taulbee

Pat Taulbee

This month’s Rotarian Spotlight is Pat Taulbee, who has worn MANY hats over the years. She is currently working part time as a sales rep at Logo It in Alton, connecting with local businesses on customized apparel and promotional products.

Pat is a graduate of Alton Senior High School who also attended Western Illinois University and SIU-E. A born and raised Altonion, Pat learned early on that hard work and determination pays off. “My parents started a business from scratch in the area and it is still going strong: Alton Memorial Sales Monument Company.”

And if you were a student at East Junior High School in the 1970’s and 1980’s, you probably remember her as Mrs. Middleton. Pat worked in various areas there for a decade, mostly in the attendance office, starting in 1976. She moved from the world of education to women’s clothing sales, travelling three states by car with her vehicle full of clothes! She even sold salesmen clothing samples at her North Alton shop called Third Edition. Her career shifted a bit more to ad sales for local media – over 40 years in sales -- including The Telegraph, AdvantageNEWS and Big Z Media. She has her real estate and insurance licenses to boot!

Pat spends much time out and about in the community, with family and friends. Her two adult children, Tad and Tori, are active in the community as well! Pat’s passions include antiquing, working in her yard and reading a good book – Danielle Steele is a favorite author!

She was recruited to Riverbend Rotary in 2023 by her former boss, Eric McRoy. She has been a champion of Riverbend Rotary from the first meeting by supporting special events, fundraisers and attending community functions as a representative of Rotary. “I really enjoy working to help and support the good of others. It’s all about team work!”
