This month’s Rotarian Spotlight is Darla Hooks, an IT Manager and Project Management Professional at Enterprise Mobility for the past six years. She provides oversight to build schedules and obtain the
needed financials for projects, as well as leads Information Technology teams to build, change, or configure IT Infrastructure Systems and a number of areas across all Enterprise Mobility branches and Disaster Recovery centers worldwide.
Before working at Enterprise Mobility, she was an IT Manager for Project Management in the brokerage industry at Scottrade in Des Peres, MO for over 16 years.
One of Darla’s passions is staying active with martial arts: Darla is currently a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo and working toward her third degree. She is also a retired professional wrestler and was inducted into the St. Louis Independent Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2020. She currently volunteers with self-defense classes for women in the Alton area, both at the YWCA Southwestern Illinois and at Piasa Martial Arts. “I train to help others protect themselves.”
A graduate of Alton High School, Darla graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a
Bachelors in Engineering focused on Information Management/Computer Science and Mathematics.
She lives with her husband, James, and son in Godfrey. Besides blended martial arts, Darla’s hobbies include dogs, health and nutrition, painting, traveling, volunteering, performing in local plays, working in the yard – plus keeping busy with her son!
As a new member of Riverbend Rotary, Darla supports the mission of supporting local youth and enjoys the networking opportunities. “I am always looking at ways to give my time to help others,” she says.
